Dear Missouri Valley LWC members,

I’m sending this email on behalf of the board to inform you of what’s going on in the LWC. As many of you know, the new Missouri Valley Weightlifting Assoc. board members were recently elected. Your board members are Anna Martin (president), Brad Jonker (vice president), Elisha Hess (secretary), Ron Sisk (treasurer), Marissa Klingseis (athlete rep), Joe Caron (athlete rep), and Ethan Harak (athlete rep).

One of our main goals for this term is to improve communication with the membership and keep you in the loop about what is going on in YOUR LWC.

After the last meet in St. Joe; Anna Martin, Joe Caron, and myself sat down to discuss the direction of the LWC. We discussed some concerns throughout the LWC and how we could best address them. Number one on that list was the 2017 awards banquet. That was given a top priority. So I am pleased to inform you that the 2017 awards banquet will be held on October 20th, immediately following the meet in St. Joe. At this time we do not have all the details nailed down, but we will get that finalized soon and inform you immediately.

We also discussed some other goals that we had for the current term. Things such as upkeep of records, consistent communication with LWC membership through an emailed newsletter, an LWC website, financial reports, the by-laws and possible revisions, and even the possibility of organizing an LWC athlete training camp. All of these things will be discussed at our next board meeting on October 7th.

I’m excited to serve you in my new role on the board and I know that the rest of the board members are as well. Feel free to reach out to any of us with questions or concerns in the future.
